2009

Birth of The Wok People

We were incorporated in August, with a focus on Business & Industries institutional catering.

2010

Sites Serviced: 22

We started our first site and acquired a total of 22 sites by the end of the year.

2011

Sites Serviced: 34

We continue our strong growth and expanded to 34 sites islandwide by end of the year.

2012

Sites Serviced: 41

We commenced our HQ training programme in an effort to equip our staff with relevant skills to ensure high quality of food and service standards.

2013

Sites Serviced: 49

We achieved OHAS 18001 and Bizsafe STAR certifications, while expanding to 49 sites.

2014

Sites Serviced: 50

We participated in a Joint Collaboration with ITE (College West) in organizing "The Budding Star" Competition, and collaborated on a Healthy Dining Programme with Health Promotion Board. Also we supported and participated in Earth Hour Movement in an effort to recognize some of TWP's talented chefs, we organized the First Season of The Mega Wok Challenge - and internal culinary competition.

2015

Sites Serviced: 60

A significant year for us as we attained the famed Enterprise 50 Awards with 60 sites under our belt.

2016

Sites Serviced: 63

We challenged ourselves at the RAS Star Chef Competition in the Chinese cuisine category and collaborated with Unilever Food Solutions (UFS) for The Mega Wok Challenge - Season Two. This year, we embarked on a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) project in Cambodia and successfully acquired a total of 63 sites by end of the year.

2017

Sites Serviced: 66

Accquired 3 new sites as at December 2017. In the same year, we have attained ATO status. With this certification, it enables us to provide in house training opportunities for our colleagues. On top of attaining ATO, The Wok People Prd Ltd has been endorsed the employer of choice and being conferred the Human Capital Partnership Award in 2017. The HCP Programme is a tripartite initiative to support progressive employers who are commited to growing their business and invest in human capital development.

2018

Sites Serviced: 65

In 2018, The Wok People are honored to be awarded with Skillsfuture Employer Award. The Wok People strongly believes in long terms skills upgrading, and training curriculum for all employees.

2019

Sites Serviced: 62

The Wok People celebrated our 10th Anniversary, a great milestone for us. Within the same year, we achieved ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018 certifications.

On 18th December 2019. The Wok People Ptd Ltd was acquired by Green House Co., Ltd.

Green House Co., Ltd is currently the third largest Contract Food Service provider in Japan, with great expertise to offer. This integration will strengthen TWP and value-added to TWP's customers.

2020

First year with Covid-19, our WSH team enforced additional safety measures against the spread of Covid. Ensuring all outlets are complied to the new Covid ruling. 

2021

We have rebranded with a new logo celebrating our 12th Anniversary! 

 

We have also held our TWP Culinary Challenge with our guest judges from King of Culinary and product sponsor by Nestle, Harvest Gourmet.

2022

Sites Serviced: 69

Added 6 new sites and operated our very first Foodhall at Gleneagles Hospital. 

This year, we've sent 7 chefs to FHA Culinary Challenge under individual practical hot cooking and brought back 7 bronze medals. 

We've acquired majority shares of 3 Embers Culinary Craft Pte Ltd, which is helmed by an all-star team including Chef Eric Teo and Chef Siang. 

In addition, we have embraced the Tripartite Standard as our pledge to create an improved workplace environment for all TWP employees.

2023

We continue to prioritize workplace safety as our top commitment, a fact verified by the Workplace Safety and Health Council (WSHC). Their commendation highlighted how our Outlet Managers exemplify a proactive stance in identifying and mitigating hazards, thereby establishing a benchmark for industry safety standards. 

 

This year, our Senior Unit Manager, Esther Tan, was awarded the prestigious Gold Excellent Service Award by the Restaurant Association of Singapore (RAS). Additionally, 11 of our outstanding team members have been honored with the Silver Awards. These accolades reflect our unwavering commitment to delivering exceptional service and excellence in the hospitality industry.

2024

We are thrilled to announce of Chef Keno’s recent appointment to the esteemed Singapore Chef’s Association (SCA) committee for Education. 

With 28 years of Culinary Operations experience, Chef Keno will lead efforts to train and upskill the culinary workforce. As a vital member of the SCA, he will contribute to elevating skills and productivity standards, enhancing Singapore's culinary landscape.
